DANCE - God's Gift Every Human Should Enjoy!

"Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music."

Whether or not people understand it, dancing is a gift.

When we dance, we strengthen our bodies and lift our spirits.
When we hear music and let it move us, we're enjoying one of God's greatest gifts.

Too often, the noise of bad news, worry, fear, and regret drowns out the music.

But the music is still there.

Don't let the world's noise keep you from hearing life's melody.

God gave us music. He gave us the ability to dance.

The greatest tragedy is to leave those gifts unopened.

This weekend, go someplace and dance..

or just put some music on in your apartment, block out the negative news and bad social media and DANCE.

Here are a few awesome tracks to get you started..

Saturday July 25 2026 - St. James Place Block Party - SAINT JAMES JOY

Saint James Joy is the groundbreaking father-son DJ duo from Brooklyn, NY, featuring DJ Jo Vill and DJ Chill.

More than DJs, they are cultural connectors who have built a movement around the belief that every celebration should serve a greater purpose. Through electrifying, multi-generational sets rooted in house and soul music, Jo and Chad create experiences that inspire joy, foster connection, and amplify messages of hope, equity, and community.

Saint James Joy first captured national attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, transforming neighborhood streets into socially distanced block parties that honored essential workers and united communities through the healing power of music. What began as a local act of service became a powerful symbol of resilience, proving that music can bring people together even in the most challenging times.

Today, Saint James Joy continues to redefine what it means to be DJs—turning dance floors into spaces for celebration, purpose, and lasting social impact.

On any given Sunday at Body&SOUL, people from all walks of life, all ages, all races, raised their hands in the air and celebrated the unifying force that brought them back week after week: the music.

After Club Vinyl closed in 2002, they party didn’t stop it just became global. Body & SOUL has performed around the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.

MUSIC - "I Lied To You" from Sinners (The Movie) - House Remix by Ameer Brooks

I heard this House Music version and went crazy on the dancefloor!

If you loved the movie Sinners, then you already know that "I Lied to You" is one of its most powerful moments.

Written by Raphael Saadiq with director Ryan Coogler and composer Ludwig GΓΆransson, the song is performed in the film by Miles Caton as Sammie.

The song is a heartfelt confession from Sammie to his father.

As a child, he was given a Bible and expected to follow a religious path. Instead, he fell in love with the blues.

When he sings, "I lied to you," he's finally telling the truth about who he really is. The blues isn't just music to him—it's part of his soul and his family's history.

Miles Caton's powerful performance, mixed with soul, blues, and gospel, helped make this song one of the most unforgettable moments in Sinners.

Now comes the fun part.

This house music remix brings back the same emotions I felt when I first heard the song in the theater, but with an energetic beat that makes it impossible not to move.

It keeps the heart of the original while giving house music lovers something incredible to dance to.

LYRICS:

Somethin' I been wanting to tell you for a long time
It might hurt you, hope you don't lose your mind

Well, I was just a boy, 'bout eight years old
You threw me a Bible on that Mississippi road

See, I love ya, papa, you did all you could do
They say the truth hurts, so I lie to you
Yes, I lied to you, I love the blues
Mm-hm-mm
Oh-oh-oh, mm-hm-mm (hey!)

Somebody take me in your arms tonight, well, alright
Somebody take me in your arms tonight, ay, yeah
Somebody take me in your arms tonight

Mm-hm-mm
Oh-oh-oh, mm-hm-mm
Somebody take me in your arms tonight (hey), alright
Somebody take me in your arms tonight, oh (hey)
Somebody take me (hey)

No shit
Country boy
Same war

I hope, I hope, I hope
I hope you can stand it, stand it all (hey, hey, hey, hey, hey)

What I'm out here doing (hey, hey, hey, hey)
You didn't preach at all (hey, hey, hey, hey)
See, I'm full of the blues (hey, hey, hey, hey)
Holy water too (hey, hey, hey, hey)
I know the truth hurts, so I lie to you (hey)

So preach on, speak your words
I know the truth hurts, yes, I lied to you
I love the blues, I love the blues
Mm, mm

Hey (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
